10 Ways to Spend your Weekend in Sarasota, The Beaches & Beyond

As season approaches, the number of things to do in Sarasota, the Beaches and Beyond really ramps up.  This weekend there is surely no shortage of fun things to do!  

Here are our Top 10 picks for things to do this weekend:

Free Moonlight Movies on Siesta Key Beach:  Showing this week: Labyrinth.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket.  The Show will begin at sunset.


13th Annual Festival of the Skeletons:  Festival of the Skeletons is a celebration of life as the community remembers our departed loved ones in the tradition of Dia de Los Muertos.  This year Gregg Allman and Snooty (beloved manatee) will be honored.  The Gregg Allman Tribute Concert will take place Friday at 7pm at the Village Veranda.  Snooty will be honored with a community shrine on 12th St. W. 

Sarasota Boat Expo will take place Friday-Sunday at the Sarasota Fairgrounds.  On display will be boats and fishing gear and more!  Admission is $5.

Sandblast: is a sand sculpting competition on Manatee Public Beach.  Watch the talent sculpt up masterpieces or take a free clinic and learn the tricks of the trade.  For more information visit:

Farm-->City Week 2017:  Learn more about where our food comes from and the contributions youth make to our local agriculture scene at the Bradenton Farmers Market Saturday from 9am-2pm. 

16th Annual Ferrari’s at St. Armand’s Circle:  Over 75 owners will be showcasing their Ferrari’s and competing for top prize.  Saturday from 10am-4pm.

Gulf Coast Fall Family Festival:  Games, Arts and crafts, kayaking, face painting, tree climbing, live music, food trucks, boat rides and so much more.  This family fun event takes place on Little Sarasota Bay at 400 Palmetto Ave. Osprey, Saturday from 11am-3pm.

Beer, Boats and Bacon Fest:  Saturday from 2-6pm at Nathan Benderson Park sample over 60 craft beers and sample food from local vendors.  Live music and family friendly!  Parking is $5.

Sarasota Medieval Fair:  Jousting, human combat chess, rides, games, turkey legs, and ale!  Celtic music, and artisan crafts.  Admission $8.95-17.95.

Ski-a-Rees Water Ski Show:  Sunday at 2pm marks their last show of the Fall season.  These shows are located at Ken Thompson Parkway and are always free!
