Over the next few weeks there will be many events to partake in to get you in the holiday spirit.  Here are a few that tickled our fancy.  

Holiday Night of Lights at St. Armand’s Circle:  Come to the circle to see Santa arrive on his sleigh, join carolers as they sing in the season and gather around the tree as it gets lit up for the Holidays.  Friday December, 1st at 6-9pm. 


Sarasota Holiday Parade:  Join in with more than 25,000 spectators as you watch one of the most famous Christmas Parades on the Gulf Coast.  The parades kicks off Saturday December 2nd at 7pm.


The Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt:  The Children’s Garden hosts this family friendly event geared to the little elves!  The “Hunt” begins at Saturday December 2nd, 10am so arrive a little prior!  After the hunt partake in the holiday coloring station, hot chocolate and bake sale!


Jingle Paws Jubilee:  Phillippi Estate Park hosts your pups (or kitties) for this paws-itively fun event!  Don’t forget to dress your 4-legged friends up in their holiday best for the parade and photos!  Animals will be available to adopt…you’ll also be able to support rescue groups, watch agility demos, shop pet friendly vendors! December 3rd, 12-5pm.


Sandy Claws Beach Run:  Siesta Key Beach hosts its 41 annual beach run Saturday December 9th with registration kicking off at 7am.  (pre-registration encouraged) The 1 mile Fun Run starts at 8am and the 5K takes place just after at 8:20am.  Enjoy the post-race party with music, holiday-themed costume contest, raffle prizes, holiday photo op and food and beverages. 


AMI Privateers Christmas Parade:  Saturday December 9th from 10am-12:30pm starting at Bayfront Park and ending at Coquina Beach….where Santa will be aboard the “Skullwag” awaiting all those brave little ones!  Hot Dogs, Chips and soda will be provided!


Lido Beach Holiday of the Arts:  Lido Beach transforms into an outdoor gallery showcasing artisans from across the US.  If you are looking for painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, photography, digital art, mixed-media, metalwork, woodworking and more…you won’t be disappointed.  Located at 400 Benjamin Franklin Dr., Lido Beach from 10-5pm.


Atomic Holiday Bazaar:  This holiday indie craft market takes place Saturday December 9th and Sunday the 10th from 12-5pm and is located between the Auditorium and the Art Center buildings on Plaza De Santo Domingo and is free to enter. If you are looking for unique, handmade holiday gifts, this is the place to be!


Sarasota Holiday Boat Parade:  Saturday December 9th at 6pm.  This spectacular event lights up the bay.  Be sure to arrive at Bayfront Park early to ensure a viewing spot.  VIP viewing available from Marina Jack…(call for reservations)


Selby Lights in Bloom:  December 21st thru 30th from 6-9pm.  Take in over 1,000,000 lights through the bayside gardens while you await Santa and his elves.  This family friendly events boasts games, arts and crafts and live entertainment.  Paid admission.
