Longboat Key is filled with pristine natural beauty.  In addition to the miles of white sand beaches along the coast, there are eight beautiful parks on the island as well for you to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.  Parks have been an integral part of the town's plan from Day One.  In fact, there is even a zoning code requirement in which developers must provide for open space to offset their building.  There are three types of parks on the island:  active recreation, passive recreation, and preserves.  Each of these types provides different amenities and, ultimately, a different feel and ambiance.  Watch below as Mike sits down with Susan Phillips, President of the Longboat Key Garden Club and an employee of the Town of Longboat Key, as they discuss the different types of parks and how each one adds it's own unique flavor to the key.  Plus, for more great content, head on over to our YouTube channel and SUBSCRIBE!
