Beach erosion is a concern for many of the barrier islands along the west coast of Florida, and Longboat Key is no different.  Over the years, there have been several efforts made to fix this problem, including bringing in additional sand more than once and the installation of groynes, which are structures that extend out from the shore and help to anchor the sand in place.  However, there's still a lot more work to be done.  Fortunately, the town of Longboat Key is continuing to take the necessary steps to find a solution to it's erosion problem, hopefully, once and for all.  Watch as Mike and Steve sit down to discuss this issue in detail and what the future might hold for the beaches of Longboat Key!
