The historic village on the north end of Longboat Key is one of the more unique and eclectic areas of the island.  With charming little beach cottages and not a chain restaurant in sight, it's a quiet and peaceful place and that's just how the locals like it.  In an effort to maintain that peaceful charm, residents are quite particular about which businesses and developments make their home in their neighborhood.  One new restaurant should fit right in though.  It's called Whitney's Roadside and it will soon occupy the old service station building at the corner of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Broadway Street.  Planned as a fast casual restaurant concept where locals and tourists alike can grab a quick bite to eat or stock up on necessities on their way to the beach, Whitney's will certainly be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.  With a planned opening date this fall, we, for one, can't wait to check it out!  Watch our video below for more!
