Sarasota Highland Games & Celtic Festival

The Scottish Heritage Society of Sarasota, Inc.’s main function is to hold and host the Sarasota Highland Games and Celtic Festival. The sound of the pipes, the beating of drums, Food Vendors, Merchandise Vendors, Dancing and Athletic events reminds all Scots of our ancient and glorious heritage. Gather up your family and friends and come discover the rest of your clan.

12th Annual Downtown Venice Craft Festival

Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Join us in Downtown Venice to browse and purchase a wide variety of ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, metal works and much more. Our event will be set up along West Venice Avenue, one of Venice’s historic downtown streets. Our Green Market offers live flora, freshly popped kettle corn, gourmet spices, and sauces. Come meet and visit with some of the nation’s best crafters, as you stroll along downtown Venice.

16th Annual St. Armand’s Circle Art Festival

Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

St. Armand's Circle will once again come alive with hundreds of gallery-style booths filled with every medium of fine art during the 16th Annual St. Armand's Circle Art Festival. The popular free, outdoor event takes place along the Boulevard of Presidents and St. Armand's Circle. More than 200 national and international artists are set to display their fine works from across the globe in a prestigious show encompassing life-sized sculpture, fine jewelry, exquisite works of art and hand-crafted apparel and decor. Whether your passions run to sparkling jewels and one of a kind paintings; exquisitely crafted glass work or an Art Deco sculpture, you are sure to find it during the free, two-day event. Ample parking is available and pets on leashes are always welcomed. The St. Armand's Circle Art Festival, consistently ranked as one of the best art affairs in the U.S. by Sunshine Artist Magazine, blends long-time favorites with the most buzz-worthy names on the contemporary arts scene and offers the opportunity to meet with the artists, ask about techniques, commission a specific piece and discover the inspiration behind each magnificent piece.

11th Annual Jewish Food Festival

Temple Sinai welcomes the community to the 11th Annual Sarasota Jewish Food Festival indoor event Sunday, January 27 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy world famous NYC Carnegie Deli Corned Beef and Pastrami, other traditional Jewish food and delicious homemade desserts. There will be Craft and Jewelry vendors, and Art & Treasures Sale.

12th Annual Forks and Corks

Savor local flavor during the SunCoast's premier Food and Wine and Festival. Calling all slime entrepreneurs! And, newbies, too! We're opening up the Children's World Slime Lab once again and we hope you'll join us to make some slime! Glitter, Glow-in-the-dark, Bouncy, All kinds of slime can be made with the kits we'll have available. Each participant will get to take some slime home with them! Parents - no clean up for you! ;) It is free to participate in the slime lab. However, the full Slime Time kit will be available for sale at 20% OFF during the event.

The Filharmonic

The Filharmonic, an LA-based a cappella group of Filipino-American youngsters who were featured in NBC’S hit musical competition, The Sing-Off, has much to sing about. The 5-piece vocal group made the semi-finals, joined The Sing-Off national tour, and were featured in the Universal Pictures hit movie, Pitch Perfect 2, setting off a viral sensation after their Late Late Show appearance. Since 2016, The Filharmonic has been bringing their unique blend of hip hop, pop and 90’s nostalgia to more than 150 college stages nationwide and was named the #1 college booked entertainment group of the year.

Bradenton Farmers’ Market

A place where the community meets each week to enjoy fresh produce, local art, upbeat music, demonstrations by local chefs, and family activities. Parking is free on weekends, and dogs on leashes are always welcome. The market sets up every Saturday on Old Main Street, just north of Manatee Avenue from the first weekend in October to the last week in May.

Oh Freedom at the Manatee Performing Arts Center

Oh Freedom is based on historical events and tells the story of the greatest collaboration against racism in American history prior to the Civil Rights movement—the Underground Railroad. Combining stories of the men and women who were active in the fight against slavery with songs of the period, it reminds us that it took the cooperation, conviction, and bravery of many people, both black and white, to help hundreds of enslaved people make their way to freedom.
