Englewood Beach Waterfest 2018 Block Party

Friday | 5:00 p.m.

The Englewood Beach Waterfest Block Party, sponsored by Paradise Exclusive Real Estate, is FREE TO THE PUBLIC! Over 40 Race Boats and crews will line up along Dearborn Street in Historic Downtown Englewood. In addition to viewing the Race Boats and talking to the crews, there will be street vendors, food trucks, beverage stations and an overall festival atmosphere. The shops and restaurants in Historic Englewood will also be open for business. See you there!

Unchained Melodies

Friday & Sunday

Under the streetlamps of East Coast cities, doo-wop emerged, bringing tight harmony to the soundtrack of the 1950s. Beginning with doo-wop groups like The Drifters and The Platters, "Unchained Melodies" celebrates the swingin’ harmonies of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Featuring songs like “Blue Moon,” “16 Candles,” “Save The Last Dance,” and “Working My Way Back To You.”

Bradenton Farmers’ Market

Saturday | 9:00 a.m.

A place where the community meets each week to enjoy fresh produce, local art, upbeat music, demonstrations by local chefs, and family activities. Parking is free on weekends, and dogs on leashes are always welcome. The market sets up every Saturday on Old Main Street, just north of Manatee Avenue from the first weekend in October to the last week in May.

Mainly Art

Saturday | 9:00 a.m.

Every third Saturday, Mainly Art hosts dozens of local artists and craftspeople displaying and selling their creations. Art, crafts, live music, and food are available from 9am to 2pm on Fourth Avenue West where it connects with the weekly Bradenton Farmers’ Market on Main Street.

Towles Court Art Walk

Friday | 5:00 p.m.

All galleries, restaurants and businesses are open for the Towles Court Art Walk every third Friday from 5-9pm. You will find various styles and mediums of art in a unique and beautiful setting.

Show Jumping Under the Stars $25,000 Grand Prix

Come enjoy Grand Prix Horse Show Jumping, benefitting Venice-Nokomis Rotary. Grand Prix Horse Show Jumping is an Olympic Sport, demanding extraordinary athleticism from both horse and rider. Fast and Exciting, jumps approach 5' high and 6' wide. Free Parking, Admission $10; proceeds of admissions and other fund-raising activities benefit Venice-Nokomis Rotary. Beer, Wine, Beverages and Food available for purchase, VIP tables available.

Circus by the Sea

Sunday | 2:30 p.m.

Join The Circus Arts Conservatory and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium for Circus by the Sea, an exciting collaboration celebrating the arts and culture of these unique organizations right in your backyard! Watch performances by Sailor Circus students surrounded by underwater wonders. Performance times are 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each performance is 20 minutes. While you explore the deep oceans at Mote, get in touch with your creative side as we bring the circus to you! You will have the chance to mingle with performers before and after performances. This event is free with paid admission to Mote Aquarium.

STREAM Saturdays:  The Science of Flight

Saturday | 10:00 a.m.

On STREAM Saturdays, you’ll find hands-on, family-friendly experiments and games, crafts and stories or themed scavenger hunts at the Museum from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Go at your own pace and visit one or all the activities before enjoying the Museum for the rest of the day!

Christmas in Pinecraft Arts & Crafts Festival

Friday & Saturday | 9:00 a.m.

You're invited to enjoy the 25th Annual Christmas in Pinecraft Arts & Crafts Festival with all local and USA made gifts from over 40 area artists. Vendors feature pottery, jewelry, beautiful handmade wood bowls, fiber art, hand crafted note cards, crochet items, wreaths, and much more. Many items made by local Mennonite and Amish community members. Gourmet popcorn and kettle korn and other from food trucks. Hand quilting by local Amish ladies. Free admission.

Turkey Trot 5K

Saturday | 6:30 a.m.

It's the LWR running Club's Turkey Trot Thanksgiving-themed 5K with turkey-themed volunteers, turkey water stop and turkey music. Great Awards plus all participants receive a moisture-wicking Leslie Jordan shirt including children. All participants will finish to a great after party with food and beverages supplied from local restaurants and participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Food Bank of Manatee County.

Venice Blues Fest

Saturday | 11:00 a.m.

This year's fest will feature Little Jake & The Soul Searchers, Joel Dasilva, Meg Williams, Super Chikan, Travis Bowlin, Jerry Marotta & Rock City Road.

Mixon’s Harvest Festival Craft Fair

Saturday | 9:00 a.m.

It's Mixon’s Harvest Festival and Arts and Craft Fair. A fun day of entertainment and shopping Unique gift ideas for the holiday. Crafters and vendors from all over the U.S.

Sidewalk Astronomy

Saturday | 10:00 p.m.

Check out some heavenly bodies during Sidewalk Astronomy courtesy of the local group of Deep Sky Observers. Telescopes will be up and available for public viewing from sunset. - 10 p.m./10:30 p.m. (weather permitting).

Sarasota Fall Fine Art Festival

Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 a.m.

The Sarasota Downtown Merchants Association presents the 6th Annual Sarasota Fall Fine Arts Festival featuring original paintings, photography, sculpture, metalwork, digital art, jewelry, glass, ceramics, woodworking and more. Free admission.

Sarasota Medieval Fair

Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 a.m.

It's the last weekend of the annual Sarasota Medieval Fair. There's jousting, human combat chess tournaments, rides and games along with food and drinks from turkey legs to hearty ales. There's also Celtic music and the new artisan marketplace with over 100 shops, food, and snack booths plus 11 stages holding over 75 shows daily!

27th Annual Ponies Under the Palms

Sunday | 8:00 a.m.

Giddy up, giddy up! It's the 27th Annual Ponies under the Palms benefit car show featuring Mustangs and other Ford cars. (For auto exhibitors: $25 to register your car for the show, $30 day of show. Check in is 8:00 a.m. Award ceremony is at 3:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit Southeastern Guide Dogs and Take Stock in Children. Free admission.

America Recycles Day

Saturday | 10:00 a.m.

Sarasota County is hosting its inaugural America Recycles Day. The event will feature: a Student Art Contest, Musical performance by The Garbage-Men band, Tours of the Landfill, Composting demonstrations, Fun games and activities, Garbage and Recycling Trucks on display, Nunn Better BBQ Food Truck (food available for purchase).

Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch Art Show and Sale

Saturday | 9:00 a.m.

The Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch is hosting its 18th Annual Art Show and Sale. This art and gifts show features original works of art by local artists and artisans in various mediums, including watercolor, jewelry, pottery, ceramic, wood turning, pastels, acrylics, mixed media and more.
